Event overview

IsoSchool aims to address the existing gap in the dissemination of knowledge related to stable isotope geochemistry, particularly focusing on doubly substituted isotopologues with two rare heavy isotopes of elements. IsoSchool 2026 is a two-day intensive short course on isotopologue / clumped isotope geochemistry, followed by the International Clumped Isotope Workshop at Utrecht University.

IsoSchool is organized by the IsoNetECR, a community of early career researchers (ECR) studying isotopologues applicable to geoscience research.

23 June (evening)IsoSchool social event
24–26 JuneClumped Isotope Workshop: presentations, poster sessions, discussions

Goals & Content

  • Equip participants with the theoretical foundations and practical understanding needed for isotopologue / clumped isotope methods
  • Cover instrumentation, calibration, sample preparation, data handling, and real-world applications
  • Foster a collaborative and interactive environment to stimulate new ideas and joint projects

Target audience

Primarily aimed at early-career researchers (masters, PhD, postdocs) and laboratory technicians who want to deepen their knowledge in clumped isotope geochemistry, particularly in the emerging field of isotopologues of molecules (e.g. Carbon dioxide/monoxide, Methane, Hydrogen, Carbonate, etc).
